The Big ThinkGoleman introduces Emotional Intelligence. In this he talks about what EI is and how it impacts on our performance. Of particular interest is his commentary on research which shows that when Emotional Intelligence programmes are introduced in schools there are interesting impacts on Anti Social Behaviour (reduced by 10%), Pro Social Behaviour (increased by 10%), Academic Achievement (Increased by 11%) and Executive Functioning overall is improved.

The Sweet SpotGoleman talks about the Sweet Spot for achievement or productivity. A careful balancing act of not too much and not too little. He discusses the two axis' of performance and arousal and what happens if you have low arousal and low stress - (sleep or boredom), and what happens if you have high performance and high arousal (frazzle, and yes it's a technical word apparently). But if you balance the two and have a manageable level of arousal (stress) performance peaks.
